It is still raining. When we went to bed last night the Deleware River, which was just down the hill from our site, was 6.8 feet when we went to bed. They were expecting a crest of 16 feet on Saturday. Well, the river is at 18 feet and they say it was crest at 22 feet tomorrow morning. Walt says that when he walked Bart this a.m. he thought the water was flowing at about 20 miles per hour. The managers of the camp are moving anything that may be flooded, like sheds, tables, trash canes and they are even emptying a storage shed.
As we began our travels we had 359 miles to go today to get to the park at Louisville, Ohio. The jack on the rig would not go up all the way, but we had it high enough to drive. When we reached Milford, PA., a little town near the park, we were very pleased with the main part of town. Even though the mall was a few miles down the road their downtown was bustling with activity and I did not see a unoccupied store front. It seems they have a good group of people who kept on the top of things. Unlike some of the downtowns in our area they are doing well.
Our trip was long an tedious. This amount of miles in one day does many things to the occupants of the truck. We stopped about every 2 ½ to 3 hours and stopped for a long lunch but we still got at the park at about 5:30 p.m. We did hit sunshine at about noon time, but driving on the interstate all day is not very interesting.
When we tried to extend the jack we were having problems with it would not go up or down. So we pulled out the 3 ½ ton floor jack that Walt had bought for the occasion and we have one corner of the RV standing on that one piece of equipment. It will do until we can get an appointment to have it fixed in Elkart, Indiana.
Needless to say we are ready for bed.
