Today we started in the desert near Phoenix and after we hit I-10 west of Phoenix we saw nothing but more desert. It was in the mid 60's when we left the park at about 10 am. As we traveled it was nice and warm for Walt and Bart on their side of the truck and REALLY COLD for me on my side. They, had the air cranked up to high, so they would stay cool and they pretty much froze me out. When we stopped for a quick lunch at a Carl J's it felt really nice to get out of the truck even though the wind was very brisk. I have had this long saga about the temperature because there is nothing else to say about our trip thru the desert. HA- HA.
We had no problem finding our park but it is not the top rated, although, we had no problem backing into the site and setting up. The first stop and it was level and all. Cannot bet that....
When we stopped we noticed there was some farmers putting in some crops, so that peaked Walt's interest about taking a drive. It was only 2:30 California time so we started out on what was planned on being a short circle to the north and west to see the farm country. Well, to our dismay we saw only a few irrigated fields and then we hit more desert for 3 hours. When we got back into Blythe we stopped at the grocery for some eggs and milk, checked the local Catholic Church for the Ash Wednesday Masses and came home to warmed up food for supper. We have no TV so we are playing like we are in the "Boonies".
I forgot to tell you--we did see a fox in the desert---I guess it was a "desert fox"--HaHa
Here are a few pictures. ...
