March 6, 2011---Red Ball Game

Our morning was filled with household chores and at about 11 am we drove to the Goodyear Ball Park in Goodyear, AZ. This is were the Reds and the Cleveland Indians share a stadium. The drive was one hour because it was on the west side of Phoenix and we are on the east side. The sky was clear and blue with a full sun and about 80 degrees. The stadium was out in a new section of town just off of route 10. Everything around the stadium was new--shopping, restaurants, etc. The traffic for the stadium was not to bad and we were soon parked in a lot next to the center field gate. The stadium reminded me of the stadium Zach played in last year for the state championship. I must say I enjoyed his games more than this game. When you do not know the players it is not the same. There were about 5000 people at the park and we played the Chicago Cubs. The end of the game score was 10 to 0 with the Reds winning. At the end of the fifth inning they were ahead 8 - 0 so the Reds put a whole new team on the field.

Here are some of the pictures I took before and during the game.

This is the bill board we saw when we walked in the stadium gate

The "Fun Team" provided entertainment during the breaks between innings. They had
tortillo throws, pie eating contest, hot dog eating contest, surprise gift certificate winners, little
 boy running from first to third before the mascot, and many more thrills. HaHa

The final score 10-0==Reds winning
