March 9, 2011---Corona, Calforina

We are finally in green pastures. Yes, we have finally left the desert, but we also have much more traffic. We will have to get accustomed with the change in traffic. Phoenix had a large amount of traffic, but it was only at certain times. In California it is always there plus a denser population. Maybe when we get further north it will be better. We are located close to Los Angeles. We want to visit a former classmate of mine in San Pedro, CA. on Friday.

This morning we went to Ash Wednesday Mass at 7 am in Blythe. It was a packed house and the congregation was mostly Spanish, therefore, the Mass was both English and Spanish. The priest was a master at being Bilingual. He would do one sentence and then switch into English or vice versa. He was also very fast in his walk and moved rapidly. Mass and ashes was completed in 45 minutes. He even had a sermon in English and Spanish. I believe I was the only true blonde in the church. Every women had silky black hair.

We left the park at 9:30 am and arrived and set up at our new site by 1:30, but we changed  to a major climate change. After we went over a range of mountains we hit green grass. Such a great site.

Here are a few of my pics.....

View of the river at our park this morning. These views were from the high rent district.

On our drive from church we passed this field of sheep with many babes.
This was one of two fields.

Water canal which is so vital to the farmer for irrigation.
Remember this is a desert.

Farmer working the ground and preparing to make raised beds for
the planting and irrigation.

The mountain we crossed today --we crossed at the lowest point.

This is a huge wind farm we saw before we crossed the mountains. They
covered the flat land near the town of 29 Palms and then went on the
low ridges of the mountains.

As we crossed these green mountains we came out in a low valley and
the green grass--we are past the desert we have been in for the last
six weeks. Hello, Corona, California
